מטרת הסמינר להציג בצורה פחות פורמלית נושאים מתקדמים יותר שאינם מופיעים בתואר הראשון, ואת מחקר אנשי הסגל במחלקה. יתקיימו שני סוגים של הרצאות:

• אשנב: הרצאות בנושאים כלליים במתמטיקה, עבור תלמידי שנה ב‘ ומעלה (אבל פתוחות לכל)
• צוהר: הרצאות בנושאי המחקר של חברי המחלקה, עבור תלמידי השוקלים לימודי המשך

שני סוגי ההרצאות יתקיימו פחות או יותר לסירוגין, אך לא בהכרח מדי שבוע (אז כדאי לעקוב!)

In the seminar we discuss construction of exceptional algebraic groups, both split and non-split via Jordan algebras and composition algebras. We further plan to discuss minimal representations on those groups and the theta correspondence for dual pairs in exceptional groups. Occasionally, guest lectures on various topics on representation theory and automorphic forms will take place.

A seminar intended to present faculty members current research to potential research students. This seminar is intended for 3rd year students, current research students, post-docs and faculty.

A venue for invited and local speakers to present their research on topics surrounding algebraic geometry and number theory, broadly conceived.
